Phase 1 – Once the social media pages are set up with all the appropriate contact and description information, it is important to start to get content on to the page. For the first several weeks the content is mainly taken from existing source material such as your existing website. The reason this is done is to matching keywords, phrases, and content on to the social media platforms so search engines such as Google and Yahoo will start to match all the sites together helping to build SEO organically. At this time ask all coworkers to:
- Invite their business associates on FB to “Like” your business page. Click here on how to do this.
- Share your Posts on LinkedIn. Click here on how to do this.
Phase 2 – If the social campaign is to start to bring in new content through curated social media posts and images. It is always better to have original images that you share, but we will use stock images when necessary. As a part of this phase, we will start post more natural sounding posts which deviate from the website and other source material, so we start to build up new keywords and phrases that will be associated with your social media pages. We will still use posts directly from the source material, as we did in phase 1 on occasion just to “remind” the search engines that there is still a connection between the website and social media platforms.
Phase 3 – This phase is to add in more types of posts to mix up the content. This includes news articles from legitimate news sources, “fun fact” posts related to your industry or other types of industry-related or seasonal posts that are designed to bring people to the social media pages organically and have them come back over again.
After this has started, the social media campaign is maintained at that level for a given period. In order to avoid too much repetition and to keep the pages fresh, the focus of the posts can change based on the season or marketing calendar.
